    • An Introduction to Trauma Informed Care

Clinical governance for CHSP providers refers to the systems and processes that ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred care to older Australians.

It encompasses leadership, risk management, and continuous improvement, aligning services with the Aged Care Quality Standards. Key elements include consumer participation, workforce capability, incident management, and compliance with regulations such as the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS).

Clinical governance also focuses on maintaining accurate records, adhering to evidence-based practices, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

For CHSP providers, it ensures care is effective, responsive to individual needs, and compliant with legislative requirements.

This checklist highlights the processes that are required to develop Clinical Governance.

These resources have been developed by Lorraine Poulos and associates and funded by the Inner West Sydney and Central West Sector Support Development projects.

These resources provide a comprehensive understanding of clinical governance in CHSP, with a focus on compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement in line with the strengthened standards.

The checklists and tools developed aid compliance, gathering feedback from CALD clients and communities, and adapting quality improvement processes to meet diverse needs.
