It also explains why it is important to know and be aware of the client’s needs, good communication skills, what to do if a client is aggressive and why it is important to report immediately and accurately to a supervisor when there is a change or incident with a client.

Duty of Care About Home and Community Care Services

Duty of Care is part of our lives. Everyday when we work or play we practise duty of care. Using workplace examples from a community care setting, this video clearly explains the complex concept of duty of care.

This video explores typical dilemmas, such as challenging behaviour, medication and privacy, which workers might face with their clients and offers a simple and effective process to attempt to solve those dilemmas without impinging on the rights of individual clients.

Professional Boundaries For Workers Supporting People Living at Home About Home and Community Care Services

The Professional Boundaries video gives an overview of what a professional boundary is, then eight real work scenarios which show where a boundary could be crossed between a worker and a client. It will assist them in saying “no” and to explain “why” to the client if they ask them to do something that is not on their task list.
